Does it really work?

Is acupuncture clinically proven?
Yes. Biovisage has spent several years doing its own clinical research and studies prove that a “facelift” is a natural and standard occurrence of the acupuncture facial. Additionally, countless other studies have shown significant contributions from acupuncture in treatment of various cancers, fertility and virtually any health issue.
Does it hurt?
No. Acupuncture has never been described as painful. In most cases, you won’t even know where the acupuncture needles are being inserted.
Are there any negative side effects?

Is acupuncture approved by the FDA?
Yes, in 1995, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accepted classification of acupuncture needles as medical instruments while regulating them and assuring their safety and effectiveness.
What do the acupuncture needles look like?
Acupuncture needles are thin, short and about the thickness of a strand of hair. They are sterile and one-time-use only.
Are acupuncture needles safe?
Yes. Definitely! There is no possibility for infection, damage to nerves, scarring or pain.
How long does it take?
Our 5 Minute Facial™ takes 20 minutes from the time you walk into your private room until you leave our building. The duration of a full-length acupuncture treatment averages 40 to 60 minutes, or more.
How many treatments do I need?
In most cases, only one treatment may be all that is needed! However, here are some general guidelines for progress.
For those who have minimal signs of aging, we suggest 1-5 treatments.
For someone who is in their 50s who wants a non-surgical acupuncture facial with results comparable to surgery, we recommend about 10 treatments. In some cases, 25 sessions may be recommended.
To stop hair loss, we recommended around 1-5 treatments.
To treat acne, most candidates will benefit from 10 treatments, as the body must be detoxified from the occurrence of acne.
What does an "acupuncture facial" mean?
It is a facial that uses acupuncture to rejuvenate the face, whether to treat the first few signs of aging, or to give results comparable to facial plastic surgery. Biovisage targets drooping areas of the face, excess or sagging skin and any other facial "blemishes" you wish to address.

Is the acupuncture facial rejuvenation new?
Yes and no. Acupuncture as a curative has been used for well over 5,000 years in a variety of ways and its healing results have been well documented. However, acupuncture for rejuvenation has only been utilized for a couple of thousand years. Biovisage has drawn upon generally known healing techniques and created its own specialized form of acupuncture. Biovisage has thoroughly tested its techniques and is proud to offer a healing protocol that is unique and not provided anywhere else. Acupuncture for the face is like the great neighbor you never knew you had.
Can I have “facial rejuvenation” in my lunch hour without other people knowing? Definitely! One main reason acupuncture is so great is that it gives amazing results without any downtime; you can walk out of here without anyone knowing you had a “facelift.”
Is it true that some of your clients only need one or two treatments?
Biovisage acupuncture sessions have often been called a “miracle” in that our clients frequently emerge feeling that everything they desired has been accomplished after just one session. Biovisage trains all staff acupuncturists in our methodology so that you may have your results in as little treatments as possible. In some cases, a Biovisage physician may recommend subsequent treatments based on your personal needs.
How often do I need a treatment?
It is completely up to you! Let your body determine when you need another treatment. Fans of acupuncture love about one treatment per month for whatever health issue concerns them the most at the time of the treatment. Today, a majority of doctors in your local hospitals often write prescriptions for acupuncture knowing that it supports balance of all body functions.
Is there any maintenance I have to do after I see my results?
Again, it’s completely up to you. Many of our clients love to receive treatments on average of one treatment every six months to maintain optimum health throughout the body.
Is there anyone who should not get an acupuncture treatment?
No, everyone is a candidate for acupuncture, as this art promotes Total Healing™ in the entire body. We do not recommend acupuncture facial rejuvenation for those who have recently gotten Botox. Since Botox is a toxin, acupuncture will only help to move it out of the body quicker.
*However to further maximize your results, please schedule your acupuncture facelift treatments prior to getting Botox.
*General acupuncture treatments after Botox injections are ok.
Is it true that there a possibility of bruising?
For some clients who receive the acupuncture facial rejuvenation procedure, some slight bruising might occur. These bruises are usually very small, circular in shape and can be covered with make-up or tinted sunscreen. Biovisage tenders a proprietary facial treatment before and after your treatment (included in all facial treatments) that is specifically designed to circumvent this issue. Most clients might go through 5, 6, or 7 treatments never to bruise and suddenly bruise in a small area in their next treatment. This is completely normal yet usually preventable.
I have allergies, is acupuncture right for me?
Absolutely; As a matter of fact, you can actually treat allergies with acupuncture.
I have terrible headaches/migraines and I would like to stop taking pills. Can acupuncture help?
Without a doubt! If you are suffering headaches, please schedule your acupuncture appointment immediately so that we may free you from suffering! Don’t endure the frustration of headaches and migraines or ingest any more pills! Migraines are no match for acupuncture, and many of our clients have sworn by acupuncture as a miracle cure.
Can I get acupuncture after I have gotten a laser treatment or surgery?
Yes, you may get the acupuncture facial without interrupting or challenging the benefits of these other procedures and in fact the results of your laser and surgical procedure will only become better with subsequent acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture is also used to speed up healing after any cosmetic or bodily surgical procedure. Many people use acupuncture to also get rid of pain, swelling and any infections that usually occur after procedures like breast augmentations and liposuction.
What’s the advantage of acupuncture versus Botox, Restylane, etc?
The advantages of acupuncture over any chemical injections are that you will experience similar results without having to inject harsh materials into your face. Chemical injectables are painful and risky and often give results that are either unsatisfactory or outstandingly unnatural looking. Additionally, there is no way to undo any undesired effects of such products and their long term consequences are unknown. With acupuncture, the results are natural, beautiful and most importantly an enhancement of your own natural beauty. Acupuncture is non-invasive, and your friends and family will not know what exactly you are doing however they will just notice that you look healthier, fresher and rested.
Some say that anxiety and depression are chemical issues, if so, how does acupuncture help?
As acupuncture triggers the release of a variety of neurotransmitters at the spinal cord, midbrain, pituitary and hypothalamus levels, this in turn counteracts chemical imbalances such as anxiety and depression. Acupuncture also stimulates the release of endorphin and other substances such as seratonin which certainly improve the functions of the body and moods.
How can two people with the same ailment having the same acupuncture treatment have different outcomes?
Some people may not have as great of results as another person because either they did not follow through with an acupuncturist’s recommendations, did not receive the specified amount of treatments, or failed to be completely honest about their health and habits with their physician.
Will I still need to get a surgical facelift after receiving the acupuncture facial?

What should a person look for when seeking a good acupuncturist?
You should look for an acupuncturist whom you feel comfortable and safe with. Your acupuncturists should make time to fully address all of your concerns, throughout the course of your treatments. Your acupuncturists should have you feeling confident of your results and excited to start the course of your healing so that you may build a relationship of trust. You should ask how many treatments they have personally given and how many people they have treated with the same condition as yours. You should look for an acupuncturist that can confidently answer your questions to give you a good idea of what results to expect.
